Why mind control?

It catches the public's attention, curiosity, and interest. Mind control is less scary when it's consensual, for adults only, and prefaced with "you can discontinue at any time."

What is the experiment?

The Valentine Mind Control Experiment is an open study and online resource to explore the science of consciousness, memory, and desire. Participants in the experiment will hear an audiobook called "Venetian Red" as performed by narrator, author, and top-selling erotic hypnotist Isabella Valentine. This study looks at emotional content and memory as it relates to cognitive and affective neuroscience. TVMCE aims to explore the relationship of memory and desire to closed-eye visualizations by answering these questions:

1) When a person listens to a 40-50 minute contemporary fictional short story featuring the topic of mind control, will he/she maintain MORE or LESS information with their eyes closed vs. wearing optical instruments such as light and sound machines vs. total darkness (i.e. blindfolds or blinders).

2) Does a person retain MORE or LESS memory when feeling high degrees of emotional DESIRE/seduction?

3) When examining genders, what are the similarities and differences when measuring degrees of RESISTANCE to erotic-infused mind control?

4) Gender comparisons of libido involvement in a seductive story.

5) Is this a trend? Compare results given in 2011 to future years.

The second purpose of this experiment is to generate public interest. Universities will have a reason to acquire grant money and public/private funding for newer technologies in education. Optional apparatus materials (virtual goggles, portable mp3 players, blinders, sound and light machines) can be requested at libraries so that students may borrow them for class.

The third purpose of this experiment is personal. I'd like to be offered a full scholarship to return to college so I can learn to make more effective experiments. I want to study neurology so my brother can walk, talk, eat, and communicate again. Time estimation: About an hour

This study is a 3-stage process. Please allow about an hour from start to finish.

Stage 1 is pre-screening, eligibility, and explanation of experiment (Approx. 6 minutes of audio)
Stage 2 is the audio presentation of "Venetian Red" (Approx. 40-50 minutes of audio)
Stage 3 is data analysis and collection (Written portion)

The Tao of Sexual Science

Universities and researchers seek timeless modern studies that advance sexual health and neuroscience worldwide. TVMCE invites consenting adult participants to experience closed-eye isolation while listening to science fiction in an audio-only format. Recommended: stereo headphones and virtual reality equipment. Formats include: story-within-a-story inductions, point-of-view virtual reality, mentual persuasion and/or mind control as told through an erotic based, science fiction mono-narrative.

Theory of Consciousness

At the end of the experiment, you will be tested on covert attention, dichotic listening, audio/pitch memory, word recognition, object location memory, experimental psychology, sensation and perception, human cognition, motivation and emotion, desire and resistance, name recollection, time recollection, and numerical retention. Second, you will be asked open-ended critical thinking questions where you can share your personal opinions.

Right now during the making of TVMCE, the United States military has a statement on their website that says "Alcohol and pornography are prohibited" - they are restricted from care packages being sent to the military. Do you suppose this experiment in consensual erotic mind control fiction would be restricted or approved, why or why not?

The Valentine Mind Control Experiment encourages teachers to air this in classrooms and for college libraries to stock this on their shelves. It is common policy that colleges never pay for erotic material in their libraries. They must be DONATED. This is a donation to the Library & Special Collections as an artifact of modern erotica to be used as a tool for students at the graduate level, professors, and private researchers who seek to study topics such as: erotic hypnosis, sex in fiction, mind control theory, human sexuality, and science fiction (See sample sex courses).

Participants have the option to wear flashing sound and light goggles or a blindfold to create as much visual isolation as possible. If you're in a college classroom, place hands over your eyes or put your head on your desk. This is an experimental form of erotica with elements of erotic hypnosis, female domination, and mind control as seen in popular science fiction novels and comic books. This experiment aims to measure memory in relation to concentrated focus in consensual isolation when given closed-eye guided visualizations within modern pop culture themes.

Who is eligible?

Adults over the age of 18, or in some states, 21. Depends on your local laws. Males, females, and transgenders welcome! Seeking, preferably, uncommitted single individuals with some understanding of bisexuality and polyamorous relationships as it relates to erotic hypnosis. Any and all participation with this story in any form of multimedia is for consenting adults only. At the end of the experiment, you will be asked a series of questions that may be anonymously recorded for research purposes. If at any time you become uncomfortable, you have the option to leave. Alternatively, if you decide to stay, you are welcome to write down your thoughts, in the form of a question, so that you may open a dialogue.

Sex Research

My dream is to research sex! I do not claim to be an expert of any kind (although I did hear that the only thing that qualifies a person to be an expert of something is to fail at something thousands of times). I welcome all expertise to accelerate this project forward! If you have qualified credentials and would like to "back" this project, please contact me. Your knowledge is very much invited to change and strengthen this experiment for the better. I realize the importance of credentials, and I invite new perspectives so this experiment can be tweaked and modified.

I believe college is a place where anyone should be able to ask anything about any topic that is relevant to the subject being taught. Why else would people pay tuition? When I was a student in Psychology/Human Sexuality, my professor "gave me the floor for a day." With my laptop hooked up to a tv screen, I shared with our class the edgiest sexual information at its time. Latest Technology for College Libraries:

The Valentine Mind Control Experiment is led by Isabella Valentine and an open team of volunteers. My hope is that universities will be adequately funded (through private donations) so that students can have access to stereo headphones, laser-light or sound and light enhancing goggles, blindfolds or blinders, and portable mp3 players. I feel education is improved by the tools used to access contemporary material, and that includes the latest innovations to simulate a sense of video isolation. If these items are currently unavailable, then please do not get discouraged. I'm under the impression that one of the common policies at most universities is to provide tools on loan from the library, should assignments like these call for them. You can always ask! Here are some volunteer opportunities to give this project forward momentum. This study seeks to expand knowledge gained within "closed-eye visualizations" and "isolated audio" and to explore the legitimacy of voluntarily sensory deprivation as a means of testable study. This aims to explore topics including time travel, virtual reality, physical sensitivity to sexual context, memory development, and the complexities of human sexual interests.
